i do/did the same thing with the mcmaster site (old) all the time and was disappointed to see the images. also checked wayback and saw the frames got killed.

RE: #5 — Whether it’s a good thing comes down to an audience question. The new design is useful for people who need that visual cue, but obstructive for people who already know the name of the category in which the item they are looking for lives. (The visual is too little to scan quickly and too big to allow for complete presentation of the line.) As a test, I can’t use it anymore, but as a budding maker of things, it’s kinda cool.

2. The illustrations are interesting. They look almost like Cooks Illustrated.

3. Now that I have added you as an ‘imaginary friend’ on FriendFeed, I actually finally see your tweets blog posts. On my TwitterFeed I get so much crap that I can’t even see stuff any more.

4. Prove that it’s important to take screenshots often and date them (or spider it if you want to do the test) as sadly even archive.org does not have a copy any more.

5. Minimalist is a good thing. I can’t really figure out whether you think that this site is still minimalist to your taste of not though?
